G. Howard Peters, 79, of Trafalgar, IN passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017. He was born December 15, 1937 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN to George Marion “Pete” Peters and Lillian (Stone) Peters. He married Linda K. (Willoughby) Peters on November 25, 1960 at Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church in Stones Crossing, Greenwood, she survives.
He was a 1957 graduate of Center Grove High School. He had been a pipefitter and plumber for Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a United States Army Veteran having served six years with the rank of Sargent. He attended Trafalgar Christian Church and was a charter member and past president of the Mid Hoosier “A”’s Model A Club. He enjoyed restoring model A Ford’s and other classic cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Linda K. (Willoughby) Peters of Trafalgar, IN; two daughters Deborah A. Hernly (Kevin) of Parker City, IN and Jamie L. Todd (Jim) of Greenwood, IN; two sons Douglas H. Peters (Cheryl) of Indianapolis, IN. and Jeffrey A. Peters (Lisa) of Bargersville, IN; six grandchildren Megan Peters, Morgan Meredith, Evan Meredith, Austin Peters, Lillian Peters, Anthony Peters, two step-grandchildren Seth Pirlot and Devin Pirlot.
The Reverend Jane Stout will conduct a service Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the mortuary. Burial with military honors will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
