Obituary for William C. "Billy" Chambers

William C.  "Billy"  Chambers
William C. “Billy” Chambers, 59, of Greenwood, IN passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017. He was born on April 26, 1958 in Logan, West Virginia to Chadwick “Bill” and Delcie (Frazier) Chambers. He married Nancy (Lane) Chambers on June 12, 1982 at the Community Church of Greenwood, she survives.
Billy was a 1976 graduate of George Washington High School in Indianapolis, IN where he played on the varsity league baseball team. Billy grew up playing little league baseball and was an avid baseball fan. He played softball until he reached the age of forty. He served on the Carnine Little League board of directors for three years. He also enjoyed playing darts and was a great pool player. He loved spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and doing home projects. He was a jack of all trades. It was his pride and joy to be Secret Santa every year for needy children. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years Nancy (Lane) Chambers of Greenwood, IN; two daughters Hillary Chambers and Holly Chambers both of Greenwood, IN; sister Deborah Miller (Ralph) of Indianapolis, IN; brother Timmy Chambers of Indianapolis, IN; in-laws Morton and Jane Lane of Mary Esther, FL; brother-in-law Paul Hendrix of Kokomo, IN; nieces and nephews Delcie (John), Savannah French, Amber Kayse (Paul), Aaron, Ceira and Tiffany Kayse, Chad Miller, Carrie Hendrix, Gretchen Zientek (Jeremy), Eliza and Elaina Zientek, Wes Hendrix (Kim) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents Chadwick “Bill” and Delcie (Frazier) Chambers; a great-nephew E.J. Hamilton; mother-in-law Eunice Lane; and sister-in-law Jan Hendrix.
The Reverend Ron Yarbrough will conduct a service 11 A.M. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Friday, September 15, 2017 from 4-8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the William “Billy” Chambers memorial fund, in care of Nancy Chambers and may be directed to Swartz Family Community Mortuary, 300 South U.S. 31, Franklin, IN 46131.
