Betty Ruth  (Boltz) Lane
Betty Ruth (Boltz) Lane, 88, of Greenwood, IN passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Aspen Trace in Greenwood, IN. She was born May 17, 1929 in Greenwood, IN to the late Harley and Hazel (Benefiel) Boltz. She was a 1947 graduate of Center Grove High School. She retired in 2008 as the administrative secretary of the St. John United Methodist Church of Sebring, Florida, where she served for ten years.
Betty was employed at Big Brothers and Big Sisters at Sebring, FL for five years before working at the church. Prior to moving to Florida in 1988, she was employed at Camp Atterbury Job Corps in Johnson County and Davidson’s Lumber in Southport, IN.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia DeHart Yoder (Robert) of New Palestine, IN, and Nancy DeHart Hey of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Jeremy Yoder of Tampa, FL, Todd Yoder (Susan) of Palm Harbor, FL, Christina Hey Brush (Darren) of Indianapolis, IN; four great-grandchildren Jordan Brush (Adam Ventura) of Indianapolis, IN, Lily, Luke and Max Yoder of Palm Harbor, FL; great-great-grandchild Lukas Ventura of Indianapolis, IN; nephew Steven Williams (Cindy) of Whiteland, IN; and niece Cheryl Williams of Whiteland, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dewey Eugene “Gene” Lane; and a sister Patricia Williams.
The Reverend Bill Turner will conduct a memorial service celebrating the life of Betty Ruth on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 6PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, where friends may call from 4PM till service time. Inurnment will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association Indianapolis Office, 6415 Castleway W.
