Obituary for Suzanne Claire Hinsch (Campbell)

Suzanne Claire (Campbell) Hinsch, 77, of Bargersville, IN passed away Monday, July 17, 2017. She was born November 11, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN to Frank and Thelma (Welch) Campbell. Her family moved to Indianapolis, IN on January 1, 1962. She married Rodney Hinsch on October 16, 2004, who preceded her in death on August 18, 2015.
Suzanne was a 1957 graduate of Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, IN, and academically accomplished, having received her R.N. degree from Indiana University, her BSN from Marian University, her MHA and MBA from the University of Indianapolis. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honorary. Her nursing career spanned a period of over thirty years, serving as director of nursing for Westview Hospital in Indianapolis, and continued her career at Riley Hospital for Children, Franciscan Health, and Marion University, retiring in 2008. She had also worked for NASA in their research department, having developed the “Campbell Effect” which focused primarily on the weightlessness in space and the results of loss of calcium in the bones resulting in the long term. Suzanne took an interest in archeology, and enjoyed traveling extensively with her mother.
Survivors include her niece Christina Lynn McConnell of Carmel, IN; four great-nephews Dylan E. McConnell, Michael A.T. McConnell, Robert J. McConnell, Jeffrey S. McConnell, one great-niece, Emily A. McConnell, and one great-great-nephew; her caregiver Margie Warren of Bargersville, IN; and a small, but close, group of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Lynda Lee (Campbell) Stelhorn.
The Reverend Shan Rutherford will conduct a service Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN where friends may call Saturday from 10AM till service time.
