Eva M.  (Mendoza) Torres
Eva M. (Mendoza) Torres, 89, of Greenwood, IN formerly of Whiteland, IN passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 26, 1927 in Ejido Tepehuaje, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Pablo and Catalina (Palacios) Mendoza. She married Marcos Torres on November 26, 1949 in Ejido Tepehuaje, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, he preceded her in death on March 31, 1997.
Eva had worked for Maschmeyer Nursery and Whiteland Orchards. She was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church where she was faithful and quietly involved in many aspects of the church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Elia R. Torres of New Whiteland, IN, Alma Clymer (Tom) of Harrisburg, N.C., J. Marcos Torres (Lori) of Whiteland, IN, and Juanita C. Briones (Robert) of Greenwood, IN; eight grandchildren, Lisa Paladin (Shane) of Hong Kong, David Conners of New Whiteland, IN, Tommy Clymer (Katherine) of Concord, NC., Nick Torres (Natalie) of Indianapolis, IN, Cecilia Click (Jordan) of Indianapolis, IN, Prajedes Briones, Javier Briones, and Xander Briones all of Greenwood, IN; eight great-grandchildren Manny Torres, Mario Torres, Selena Torres, Dominic Click, Layla Click, Henry Paladin, Conner Paladin, and Delia Clymer; two sister-in-laws Nazaria Mendoza of New Whiteland, IN and Carmela Mendoza of Ejido Tepehuaje, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gilberto and Juana Torres of Ejido Tepehauje, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Carmen Mendoza Granados; brothers Florentino Mendoza, Jose Mendoza, Vicente Mendoza, and infant brother Mendoza.
Father Mike Keucher will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church 335 South Meridian Street in Greenwood. Friends may call Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 4-8PM at the church where a rosary service will be conducted at 7:30 PM. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 South Meridian Street, Greenwood, IN 46143. Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton) Street in Franklin is handling the arrangements.
