Shirley R.  (Adams) McCoy
Shirley R. (Adams) McCoy, 89, of the Franklin United Methodist Community, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017.
She was born May 20, 1927 in Indianapolis, to John and Inez (Northern) Adams.
She married the Rev. Dean M. McCoy on Sept. 4, 1949 in Indianapolis; he preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2010.
She was a 1969 graduate of Vincennes University. She had served as a LPN in Corydon, and previously Sullivan County Hospital and had worked in Farmersburg.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed and loved reading, sewing and playing dominoes and Mexican dominoes.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeffrey L. McCoy of Tampa, Florida, Robert D. McCoy of Frisco, Texas, two daughters, Betty Meyer of Yorktown and Ada Colleen McCoy of Rush County; two grandchildren, Taylor R. McCoy of Bangor, Maine and Robert D. McCoy of Port St. Lucie, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The Rev. Robert Coleman will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wright Chapel of the Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin. Visitation will take place from noon until the service time on Thursday at the Wright Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin, IN 46131.
Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin is handling the arrangements.
