Carl Taylor Irvine
Carl Taylor Irvine, 87, Of Franklin, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Kindred Health Center (South) in Greenwood. He was born December 28, 1921 in Somerset, Kentucky to Layton and Tina (Taylor) Irvine.
He married Tishie Marie (Janes) Irvine on March 16, 1948 in Georgetown, Indiana. She survives.
He was a graduate of Eubank High School in Eubank, Kentucky, received a degree in elementary education from Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky, and attended Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific Theater. He retired after 31 years as a machine operator at International Harvester in Indianapolis.
He was 50 year member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #107, and a member of Veterans Of Foreign Wars in Columbia, Kentucky. He was also a former member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin and Trinity United Methodist Church in Columbia, Kentucky. He attended New Life Baptist Church in Franklin.
Survivors include his wife, Tishie Marie (Janes) Irvine of Franklin; a daughter, Lou Ellen McBeath and son-in-law John McBeath of Franklin; a grand-daughter, Alison Black and her husband Dustin Black of Franklin; and two brothers, Charles Irvine and George Ray Irvine, both of Somerset, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathon Carl McBeath, and two brothers, John Irvine and James Irvine.
The Reverend Rick Henry will conduct a graveside service Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2 P.M. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin with full military honors. Friends may call Monday, April 13, 2009 from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Swartz Family Community And Memorial Center, 300 SOuth U.S. 31 (Morton Street), Franklin, Indiana.
