Roscoe Dean Arney, 76, of Franklin, IN passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin, IN. He was born April 19, 1940 in Oden, IN. He retired in 2006 as a truck driver for Penske in Indianapolis, IN. He previously had been a truck driver for Signal Delivery Services and had also worked for General Tire, and Blue and White in Indianapolis, IN. He was a member of Teamsters Local 135 in Indianapolis, IN. He enjoyed taking pictures, camping, computers and exploring new technology. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran.
Survivors include his wife Hilda Gay (Maupin) Arney whom he married on April 18, 1981 in Johnson County, IN; children Robert Allen Arney (Marvilou) of the Philippians, Ronald Dean Arney (Carrie) of Indianapolis, IN, Michael Joseph Arney (Sadie) of Morgantown, IN, Joseph Allen Arney (Shana) of Salem, IN, Janet Peavler of Franklin, IN, Chris Bolt (Gina) of Franklin, IN, Jeanenne Bolt of Franklin, IN, Jeanette Bolt Smith of Merritt Island, FL, Jeff Bolt of Trafalgar, IN; 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister Brenda Adams (Steve) of Martinsville, IN; a half-sister Kay Arney of Martinsville, and a sister-in-law Peggy Arney of Martinsville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his father Leonard Arney; his mother Lucille (Walls) Williams; stepfather Jack Williams; and a brother Charles Robert Arney.
The Reverend Eric Allen will conduct a service Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 7PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, where friends may call from 5PM till service time at the mortuary with military honors to be conducted.
