Roy William "Chuck" Lanham Jr.
Roy William “Chuck” Lanham Jr. 82, of Franklin, IN passed away Wednesday, December 07, 2016 at his residence. He was born June 28, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN to Roy William Lanham Sr. and Ruth (Petty) Lanham. He married Lois F. (Neff) Lanham on August 23, 1972 in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.
Chuck had been a pipefitter for Plumber and Steamfitters Union Local #440 in Indianapolis for sixty years having worked not only in the United States, but also Europe. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in Saigon where he served as a pipefitter. He enjoyed fishing, boating and going to Dale Hallow, and coaching little league baseball.
Survivors include his wife Lois F. (Neff) of Franklin, IN; children Deborah Peckinpaugh (Donald Bruce) of Franklin, IN, Bonita Shanafelt Hively (Ronald) of Franklin, IN, Jeffrey Lanham (Lori) of Franklin, IN, and Christopher Lanham (Latoya) of Franklin, IN; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Leonard Lanham of Greenwood, IN; sister Pauline Combest of Westport, IN, and Joan Smith (Paul) of Indianapolis, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Ruth Lanham and brother-in-law Joe Combest.
The Reverend Larry McAdams will conduct a service on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Friday, December 9, 2016 from 4-8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN with full military honors.
