Obituary for
Jerry D. Aldrich
Jerry D. Aldrich, 78, of Bargersville, IN passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the family farm in Union Township. He was born May 9, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN to James and Marilyn (Paddock) Aldrich. He married Marcia E. (Whitaker) Aldrich on March 14, 1959 at Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church at Stones Crossing in Greenwood, IN, she preceded him in death on November 21, 2010.
Jerry was a 1956 graduate of Center Grove High School and a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin, IN and the National Rifle Association. He and his wife always enjoyed trips together to the Smoky Mountains and eating at Cracker Barrel. His life was devoted to God, church, his loving family, and farming.
Survivors include his children, Tim L. Aldrich (Libby) of Bargersville, IN, Marie E. Kidwell (Kevin) of Bargersville, IN, Susan M. Kidwell (Keith) of Bargersville, IN and Sally J. Winnett (Lee) of Greenwood, IN; nine grandchildren, Jena E. Studer (Shane) of McCordsville, IN, Julia D. Aldrich, Jonathan L. Aldrich, Joseph M. Aldrich, Lindsey E. Kidwell, Robert D. Kidwell, Grace E. Kidwell all of Bargersville, IN, Ethan A. Winnett and Emma E. Winnett both of Greenwood, IN; two great-grandsons Anthony Owen Scott Studer and Oliver Montgomery Lee Studer; his mother Marilyn (Paddock) Aldrich of Bargersville, IN; sisters Sherrel Legan (Tom) of Singer Island, FL, Carolyn Sue Stropes (McKim) of Bargersville, IN, and Brenda Hess of Martinsville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his father James Aldrich on October 3, 1976, his wife Marcia E. (Whitaker) Aldrich on November 21, 2010; his brother Michael Lee Aldrich on September 6, 2001.
Reverend Kent Kirchmeyer will conduct a service on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 952 West State Road 44, Franklin, IN. Friends may call Friday, October 28, 2016 from 4-8PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and Saturday from 9:30AM till service time at the church. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery near Banta, IN with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 952 West State Road 44, Franklin, IN, 46131.
