Obituary for Kenneth B Allen

Kenneth B  Allen
Kenneth B Allen, age 90, of Franklin IN, went home July 25th 2016 at his residence in Franklin, IN.

He was born February 20, 1926 in Meador, Kentucky to Joseph and Renie (Stovall) Allen. He married Delcie M. (King) Allen on March 15, 1955 in Indianapolis, she survives.

He was a beloved husband, father, grand, great and great-great grandfather. He was in the Army 5th Infantry Division in WWII and was a Battle of the Bulge veteran. He retired from General Motors Allison’s Gas Turbine Division in 1982 after 32 years, he retired as a CNC lathe operator. He also farmed for most of his life. He was a member of Greenwood Bible Baptist Church, in Greenwood, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife Delcie (King) Allen of Franklin, children Sharon Walker of Avon, IN. and Roger Allen (Melani) of Franklin, IN., grandchildren Jason Walker (Kim) of Franklin, IN., Marci Walker (Mike) of Indianapolis, IN., Samantha Allen (Jon) of Indianapolis, IN., Nathan and Noah Ryan both of Indianapolis, IN., Great grandchildren Lauren Walker (Cory) of Indianapolis, IN,, Caitlin Wheeler of Danville, IN., Mackenzie Walker of Danville, IN., Benjamin, Dylan, Garrett, Gavin Stewart and Dillon Rivera all of Indianapolis, IN., great-great grandchildren Mia Brunnemer and Blakely Rivera.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Renie (Stovall) Allen, all of his brothers Ruble, Floyd, William, Oathur, Aubrey, Carlton, Oval, sister Evelyn, and his son-in-law Timothy McLain.

The Reverend Todd Poynter will conduct a service Friday at 7PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call Friday from 4PM till service time at the mortuary.

The Reverend Lloyd Tucker will conduct an additional service on Saturday at 2PM (1 PM Kentucky Central Time) at the Chapel at Crescent Hill Cemetery on Old Glasgow Road in Scottsville, Kentucky with full military honors to follow.
