Nita J. Lakin
Nita J. Lakin, 65, of Martinsville, IN passed away Friday, June 3, 2016. She was born January 12, 1951 in Lawton, OK to Walter Ralph Northcutt and Emma Lucile (Miller) Northcutt Clay. She married Allan L. Lakin on April 1, 1987 in Greenwood, IN, he survives.
She was a graduate of Lawton High School and attended Cameron University. She had been a line engineer for AT&T in Bloomington, IN for twenty-five years. She and her husband enjoyed wintering in Clearwater, FL and going to the beach and sitting around the pool. She also enjoyed shopping and lunch with friends and family. She was an avid Colts fan and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Allan L. Lakin of Martinsville, IN; daughters Janie Stoughton McAtee (Sean) of Mooresville, IN, Angel Lakin Egan (Tony) of Indianapolis, IN; son Sam Lakin (Colleen) of Indianapolis, IN; eight grandchildren Cameron McAtee, Mackenzie McAtee, Samuel Lakin, Maggie Lakin, Grace Lakin, Allyson Egan, Peyton Egan, and Anthony Lakin; and a brother Bill Northcutt (Dorothy) of Hurst, TX.
She was preceded in death by a son Antonio Lakin and a brother Jimmy Northcutt.
The Reverend Rodrick Reid will conduct a service Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 12:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 10:30AM till service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant in Greenwood, IN.
