Willis Herman Porter, Jr. 71, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN. He moved to Franklin, IN in 2015, from Cameron, West Virginia, where he had lived most his life.
He was born May 8, 1944, in Marshall County, Fish Creek, West Virginia to the late Willis Herman Porter, Sr. and Hilda Belle (Blake) Porter.
Willis is survived by his sons, Shawn Porter and wife Janice of Independence, KS, Ron Porter and wife Shauna of Kingfisher, OK, Bryan Porter of Dennis, KS, Lee Porter and wife Carrie of Altoona, KS, Jonathan Smith of California; daughters, Christina Porter and husband Shane Henry of Joplin, MO, Jodi Robertson and husband Humphrey Kiprop of Bucyrus, KS, and Misty Hugo and husband Brad of Cherryvale, KS; one brother Paul Porter and wife Tracy of Chanute, KS. He had several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Willis is preceded in death by his parents Willis Herman Porter Sr. and Belle Porter; his siblings Jack, Charles, William, Franklin, Betty, Willmetta, and Juanita.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
