Obituary for Bertha L. Durant (Walker)

Bertha L. (Walker) Durant, 103, lifelong resident of White River Township, Greenwood, IN passed away Monday, December 21, 2015, at Greenwood Village South Health Pavilion.
She was born September 19, 1912 in White River Township to William Forrest Walker and Ada (Smith) Walker. She married Don Durant, he preceded her in death in 1991. She was a 1930 graduate of Center Grove High School. She had worked for Real Silk in Indianapolis, IN and the Indiana State Department of Health. She had attended Fairview Methodist Church in Greenwood, IN.
Survivors include her nephew William “Bill” Walker (Mary Lue) of Greenwood, IN; great-nephew Brian Walker (Michelle) of Greenwood, IN; a great-great-niece Kaitlynn Walker; and great- great-nephew Garrett Walker both of Greenwood, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Chester Walker and Forrest Walker.
The Reverend Ben Greenbaum will conduct a graveside service at 11AM Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 734 North Morgantown Road, in Greenwood, IN. Arrangements are being handled by Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, in Franklin, IN. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.swartzmortuary.com.
