Obituary for
Robert Charles Goley
Robert Charles Goley, 90, of the Franklin United Methodist Community, former lifelong resident of the Needham Community, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015.
He was born October 20, 1924 in Shelby County, Indiana to Clarence Edward Goley and Lillian J. (White) Goley. He married Norma F. (Tilson) Goley on November 27, 1945 in Southport, she survives.
He was a 1943 graduate of Alva Neal High School in Franklin. He was a lifelong member of Second Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin, IN where he served as trustee, deacon, treasurer, and superintendent. He also served on the board of Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, he was a fifty year member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #107, a member of the Nineveh Senior Citizens, and Progressive Farmers Group. Mr. Goley was a lifelong farmer in the Needham area and had worked at Arvin’s and as a substitute mail carrier in Franklin, IN.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty nine years, Norma F. (Tilson) Goley of Franklin, IN; children Charles William “Bill” Goley (Betty) of Franklin, IN, Rose Ann Rodriguez (Guadalupe) of Franklin, IN, and Eileen Fay Humes (Dan) of South Bend, IN; a brother Clarence William Goley (Reba) of Whiteland, IN; five grandchildren, Troy Goley (Karen) of Fishers, IN., Brian Goley (Sabrina) of Coldwater, Mississippi, Emily Milovich (Christian) Becky Drake (Royce), and Erick Humes (Sarah) all of South Bend, IN., and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Reverends Dan McCollough and David Mark Owens will conduct a service at 11:30 AM Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South Morton Street (US 31), in Franklin. Friends may call Saturday, 9AM until the service time at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, IN where a Masonic service will be conducted by Franklin Masonic Lodge #107.
