Edwin Grant "Ed" Fears
Edwin “Ed” Grant Fears, II, 75, of Greenwood, IN. passed away Monday, April 06, 2015, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, IN. He was born March 7, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of the late Barney and Iva (Stack) Fears.
He married Andrea M. (Marling) Fears on November 30, 1963, at Old Bethel Methodist Church in Indianapolis. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2013. He was a 1957 graduate of Pike High School and received his pharmaceutical degree from Purdue University in 1963. He had been an executive for Hook’s Drug Stores in Indianapolis, IN for ten years. He had been a pharmacist for various drug stores in central Indiana for over thirty years, including owning his own Riley Towers Drug Store in downtown Indianapolis. He later owned and operated the Ye Olde Lamp Lighter in the Center Grove Community for ten years. He was a member of Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church at Stones Crossing and a charter member of the Center Grove Optimist Club.
He also enjoyed spending time on the family property in Brown County. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Andrea M. (Marling) Fears of Greenwood, IN; his children, Grant Fears (Lisa) of Trafalgar, IN, Monique Galster (Damon) of (Garod Cavanaugh New Palestine, IN, and Kimdra Montgomery) of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren Sydney Fears, Logan Montgomery, Spencer Fears, Ethan Galster, Keygan Montgomery, and Lilah Cavanaugh, and a brother Robert “Bob” Fears (Joan-deceased) of Charlotte, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Reverends Ben Greenbaum and Jeff Buck will conduct a service Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 1PM at Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church, 100 West Stones Crossing Road, Greenwood, IN, 46143. Friends may call Wednesday, April 8, 2015, from 4-7 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South Morton Street, (U.S. 31), Franklin, IN, and Thursday, April 9, 2105, from 11 AM till service time at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood.
