Sandra J. “Sandy” (Byrum) Jarvis, 70, of Franklin, Indiana passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 8, 1943 in Kokomo, Indiana to Richard E. and Kathryn (Catron) Byrum. She married J. Michael Jarvis on June 5, 1965 at Oakland Christian Church in Russiaville, Indiana; he survives. She was a 1962 graduate of Northwestern High School in Kokomo. She had served as the social chairperson of Franklin Power Products in Franklin. She was an active member of Franklin Memorial Christian Church, a member of the Johnson County Republican Women’s Club, Franklin Women’s Study Club, Tri Kappa of Franklin, Millennium Investment Club and had received from the Franklin Chamber of Commerce the honor of woman of the year in 2000. Sandy had also served as a board member of the Johnson County Health Foundation when the Todd Aikens health care unit was established at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at their beloved cabin in St. Croix, Indiana and numerous fishing trips to Nungesser Lake in Ontario, Canada. She especially enjoyed following the activities of her four grandchildren and maintaining her beautiful flower gardens and working puzzles. Sandy was a talented golfer and auto racing enthusiast and was a former women’s European rally race car champion. Survivors include her beloved husband J. Michael Jarvis of Franklin; two sons, Tony Jarvis (Bonnie) of Columbus, Indiana and Troy Jarvis (Samantha) of Bloomington, Indiana; siblings Marianne Smith (Phil) of North Manchester, Indiana, Jim Byrum (Ann) of Kokomo, Indiana, Ed Byrum (Linda) of New London, Indiana, Dick Byrum (Joyce) of Kokomo and John Byrum (Gail) of Twelve Mile, Indiana; four grandchildren, Ellen Jarvis of Murray, Kentucky, Garrett Jarvis of Spokane, Washington, Cayman Jarvis of Indianapolis, Indiana and Olivia Jarvis of Bargersville, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Hicks of Tazewell, Tennessee and Charlene Davis of Galveston, Indiana; and a brother-in-law, Steve Jarvis (Shawna) of St. Croix, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sandy devoted her life to the Lord first, her loving husband, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, family and friends. She was a faithful Christian her entire life.
