Leland Alexander "Alex" Plew
Leland Alexander “Alex” Plew, 22, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014. He was born July 27, 1991 in Indianapolis, Indiana to David Robert Plew and Susan A. (Lindmair) Plew. He was a 2010 graduate of Center Grove High School where he played soccer and lacrosse. He attended Ivy Tech studying Logistics. He was currently working for Buchanan Hauling and Rigging as a Client Logistics Manager. He was a member of Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church in Greenwood. He was a selfless, kindhearted spirit who was always willing to help. His smile would light up the room. He enjoyed all genres of music and liked to share new found songs with his friends. He was an amateur artist who enjoyed painting, abstract art and sketching. He loved to golf and fish. A special shout out to all his lifelong friends and family, his friend and sponsor Father Theodore Rothrock, Laverna Lodge counselors and residents, TAM and all of his NA and AA brothers and sisters and Dr. John Jarrett, infertility specialist who helped bring Alex to this world.
Survivors include his parents David Robert Plew and Susan A. (Lindmair) Plew of Greenwood; a brother, Adam H. Plew of Greenwood; grandparents Rudolph and Mary (Gebbia) Lindmair of Greenfield, Wisconsin and Robert W. Plew of Shelbyville, Indiana; uncle and godfather Daniel A. Plew (fiancé Julie Odenbrett) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; aunt Amy VanDenBerg (Joe) of Genesee, Wisconsin and uncle Rudolph (Elise) Lindmair of Mukwonago, Wisconsin; cousins Dodd Plew, Daniel Plew, Rudy Lindmair, Jake Lindmair, Sam VanDenBerg, Nick VanDenBerg, and Joey VanDenBerg. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Jean (Dodd) Plew; step-grandmother Wanda Plew; and uncles Leland Dodd Plew and Joseph E. Lindmair.
Father Vincent Lampert will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 5 P.M. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road in Greenwood. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 1 P.M until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
