Paul Joseph Volk
Paul J. Volk, 74, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born June 27, 1939 in Indianapolis to Vincent George Volk and Mary (Wesseler) Volk. He married Helen Marie (Werner) Volk on December 28, 1963 at St. Marks Catholic Church in Indianapolis; she survives. He attended Holy Cross Catholic School and was a graduate of Cathedral High School. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Butler University. He was a principal at Indianapolis Public Schools for more than 40 years at several of the Indianapolis Public Schools, including schools 26, 15, 14, and 112. Mr. Volk was an active member of Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church in Greenwood where he was an usher, involved in the Harvest Food Pantry, member of DADS club, the Joy Club, and actively involved in the school ministry. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife Helen Marie (Werner) Volk of Greenwood, Indiana; children Anne Lockard (Vince) of Beech Grove, Indiana, Cathy Marshall (Ron) of Indianapolis, Sharon Sellers of Greenwood, and Brian Volk (Stephanie) of Greenwood; grandchildren Nick, Laura and Rachel Marshall, Matt and Leigh Hoagland, Ethan, Andrew and Kyle Lockard, Gabrielle and Isabella Sellers, and Alex, Owen and Lauren Volk; and sisters Lucille Frazee of Brownsburg, Indiana and Margaret McAndrews of Indianapolis.
Father Vincent P. Lampert will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday June 14, 2004 at 11 A.M. at Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, in Greenwood. Friends may call Saturday from 9 A.M. until service time at the church.
