Teddy L. Noblitt
Teddy L. Noblitt, 80, of Greenwood, Indiana and formerly of Trafalgar, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on June 4th, 2013. Ted was born May 23rd, 1933 in Brown County, Indiana to Karl and Elsie (Lackey) Noblitt. Ted was preceded in death by his father Karl; Ted’s mother survives.
Ted married his wife Lucille (Mullis) Noblitt on September 20th, 1974 at Bargersville First Christian Church; she survives. This joined their family of a combined nine children which includes Staci Noblitt of Sacramento, California, Eric (Julie) Noblitt of La Grange, Indiana, Randy (Tammy) Noblitt of Whiteland, Indiana, Lori (Mike) Deater of Marietta, Indiana, Michael (Jeni) Cunningham of Woodlawn, Tennessee, Malinda (John) O’Rourke of Greenwood, Indiana, Patrick Cunningham of Bargersville, Indiana, and Jill Cunningham and Patricia Cunningham, both of Greenwood.
Ted is survived by his siblings Max (Marcie) Noblitt of Waynetown, Indiana, Bill (Roberta) Noblitt of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Kay (Buzz deceased) Brown of Franklin, Indiana, Carole (Mark) Graham of Franklin, Patricia (Tom, deceased) Trusty of Franklin, and Jim (Vicki) Noblitt of Franklin.
Ted enjoyed his thirteen grandchildren, Levi, Garrett, Katelyn, Alexis, Kelly (deceased), Tyler, Brooke, Jonathan, Mindy, Megan, Melissa, Derek, and Cassie, plus his six great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Caden, Grace, Noah, Chloe and Luke.
Ted graduated from Center Grove High School in 1951. He served four years in the United States Air Force. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1995 at the Southport Post Office (Indianapolis, Indiana) as a letter carrier. He had also previously worked at Monarch Beverage in Indianapolis for ten years.
Ted was an avid golfer, along with his partner and wife Lucy. He enjoyed working part-time at Tameka Woods and Indian Springs golf courses after retirement. Ted enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and golf. Ted also enjoyed telling a good story or a good joke. His family will miss his sense of humor and his reminiscing about his family and youth.
Reverend Allen Whitehurst will conduct a service Friday, June 7, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary And Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call Friday from 10 A.M. until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood with military honors.
