Eddie B. Ellis
Eddie B. Ellis, 86, a resident of the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana. He was born May 21, 1926 in Linton, Indiana to Mr. And Mrs. Lawrence Edward Ellis. He was a graduate of Midland High School and Indiana State Teachers College. Mr. Ellis was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran serving in France and Germany in the Tank Corp of the 5th Army under the command of General George Patton. He worked many years at Stark and Wetzel Company in Indianapolis, Indiana and retired from Coca Cola Company in Indianapolis, serving as a data processor for both companies. He married Lillian Barbara Jones Ellis in 1961; she preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister who died at birth, and step-mother Sarah Ellis.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn Jean Crawl Ellis of Franklin, Indiana; cousins Frank and Barbara Willis of Florida; sister-in-law Carole Jones Day of Indianapolis, Indiana; stepson Chris Crawl (Karen) of Columbus, Indiana; stepdaughter Aimee Bomar of Bulington, Kentucky; three step-grandchildren, Dillon Bomar, Taryn Bomar, and Janan Jones (David) of Franklin; and six step-great-grandchildren. He was a member of Linton Masonic Lodge #560, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, and Murat Shrine. He enjoyed most sports and especially basketball, football, and the Indy 500. Eddie was a kind, gracious, and loving individual, and we were blessed to have him in our lives.
The Reverend Charles Stanley will conduct a service Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 1 P.M. at the Ransford Chapel of the Indiana Masonic Home, 690 S. State Street in Franklin, Indiana. Friends may call Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary And Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. and Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 12 Noon until service time at the Ransford Chapel. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
