James R. Zimmerman, 77, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana. He was born April 7, 1934 in Brown County, Indiana to Elsworth Zimmerman and Sara Vivian (Frazier) Zimmerman. He had been employed by Walkers Egg Hatchery in Greenwood, Indiana for several years and previously had worked for the Johnson County Highway Department (Indiana). Survivors include sons James A. Zimmerman (Debra) of Greenwood, David Zimmerman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ricky Zimmerman of Evansville, Indiana; a daughter, Linda Eades of North Vernon, Indiana; seven grandchildren, James, Vance, Jacob, and Megan Zimmerman, and Zach, Josh, and Anna Rarey; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rita Adkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Elsworth Zimmerman, Jr., and his sister Mary Mathis. The Reverend Larry McAdams will conduct a service Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1 P.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary And Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, Indiana with visitation from 11A.M. until service time at the mortuary.
